Shioun Lee specializes in intellectual property law, with a focus on trademark, copyright and internet law. Ms. Lee’s practice includes domestic and foreign trademark prosecution, copyright protection, business entity formation and transactions, enterprise policies and practices, including website compliance and privacy matters, licensing, and a wide range of contractual arrangements.
Ms. Lee serves Creative Industry Law’s clients at various stages in their business development and growth in a variety of industries, particularly entertainment, technology, media, and retail.
She is conscientious in her approach with the goal of protecting, enhancing and enforcing the rights of innovators, entrepreneurs, and artists through efficient, well-considered and cost-effective strategies. Clients appreciate Ms. Lee’s attentiveness and follow-through as well as the high quality of her legal work.
Ms. Lee received her B.A. in Psychology and Mass Communications from the University of California, Berkeley, and her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where she also earned a certificate of concentration in Intellectual Property Law.
While at Hastings, she distinguished herself in activities related to intellectual property and technology law, including competing in the Saul Lefkowitz Trademark Moot Court Competition, serving as Staff Editor of the Hastings Communications and Entertainment Law Journal, and participating as Communications Director for the Hastings Intellectual Property Association.
She also honed her writing skills as a Teaching Assistant for students in Legal Writing and Research and was awarded Best Brief in her Moot Court course.
Prior to law school, Ms. Lee worked in the entertainment and advertising field at an innovative network providing online information services and product marketing for popular brands and advertisers. Ms. Lee speaks conversational Korean.
